Melbourne High School has always nurtured a culture of giving back
In 2019 we are asking our community to help us keep this tradition alive.
Government funding only provides for core school programs and basic facility maintenance. For us to continue delivering excellent academic programs, a broad range of extra-curricular activities, and a commitment to individual well-being and happiness, we need your support. At tax time we are calling on our school community to Give Back so that we can continue to provide young men from all walks of life with the skills required to become tomorrow’s leaders.
In 2019 we are raising funds for the following priority projects. All donations large or small are tax deductible.
River Centre
Help us build a multi-purpose facility for rowing, workshops and gatherings
We are raising funds to build an educational, sporting and community facility on a scenic spot at Como Park. The River Centre will be available for offsite student, staff and community activities and will be a contemporary and attractive space for all to congregate.
Future Fund
Help us future-proof our academic programs, facilities and resources
Your unrestricted gift to the recently established Future Fund will enable us to respond to the most pressing funding requirements and provide Melbourne High School with financial flexibility and stability into the future.
Scholarships
Help us support students in need
All students should have the opportunity to benefit from Melbourne High School’s all-encompassing education, regardless of background or circumstance. Donations to the Scholarship Trust allows us to, give much-needed assistance to students who cannot meet the basic costs of education.
Support our talented artists
Help us promote and support the arts in the school.
We are raising funds to promote and support the arts within the school. Our areas of interests include music, media, theatre studies, studio arts, visual communications and design. In 2019, a priority project is raising $10,000 to purchase four new double basses that will allow our talented students to practice together.
Classrooms
Help us build state-of-the-art classrooms.
We have set a target of upgrading 40 classrooms by our centenary in 2027. Through the generous support of our school community, we have renovated six classrooms and have the funds to renovate four more. Can you help us to continue reaching our target? Any donation large or small will help us build classrooms for a new century.
